Hello and welcome to my author site.

Aren’t these “About Pages” so awkward? You want to make it clean and professional but just intimate enough that the reader can actually get to know you. But not intimate enough that they can show up at your front door and declare their undying love before stuffing you into a potato sack.

Fortunately for me, the joke’s actually on you, dear reader. Because I’m not entirely sure what I’m “about” either, so I guess we can figure it out together.

Foremost, I am a woman of many hats, as I think most writers are. It’s tough to make it out there, and like so many pioneers of the pen, I also hold a full-time job working as a custodial lead for our local university. I’ve been cleaning professionally for about twelve years, so it’s no coincidence that cleaning is an enormous influence on my writing. Contrary to the popular depiction of janitorial work, it’s actually a career rife with material. Nuggets of gold, if you will, when you have a sense of humor about it.

This comedic world view has also served me well as a parent– a journey that has tested the very limits of my good nature.

I am also an artist, a thespian (no, not lesbian), a cat-mom, a devout reader of all manner of books, and yes, a writer, which is likely why you’ve stumbled upon this page. Throughout my time writing I’ve strung together words in nearly every manner that they can be fashioned into a sentence. Or not, if I’m writing poetry, which tends to fall off the page… lacking any reason… or sensible punctuation

Poetry’s not my strong suit.

In my time as a ghostwriter, I put together primarily SEO content created to boost engagement. Articles, listicles, and how-to guides were the name of the game, and despite the tedium, I quite enjoyed researching and sharing my knowledge of a vast array of topics. I’ve also got several novels underway and in my “to-be-written” inbox that I hope to find the time to complete. My writing passion, however, tends to fall under the umbrella of creative nonfiction in the form of personal essays, as well as short fiction that captures the comedy of everyday life.

These essays and short stories are what you will find here on this site, for your reading and sampling pleasure. Laugh, cry, or hop off your computer and go get some inspiration of your own. If I have to choose what I’m “about” then I think it would be to inspire people to find the wit and humor in their own everyday lives. And I promise you won’t find it on here.
